Beethoven defined the Sonata form the way Bach defined the art of Fuge. His sonatas for the Piano together with those for the Violin and the Cello are the testament of his true genius in this musical form.

This series brings in performance, in chronological order, all 10 sonatas for Piano and Violin. From the very simple and joyful Op.12 to the symphonic Op.47 and the philosophical Op.96, it is almost impossible to miss the transformation in Beethoven’s work.

The series will be a clear display of a journey through Beethoven’s different periods and, on a closer look, a review of his psychological state of mind in different periods of his life.
